Avoid foods high in salt, saturated fat and sugar, foods low in fibre and nutrients, and drinks with caffeine or lots of sugar.

Yes You can give it to the child only if it is required don’t make it a habit because sometimes I have seen a couple of parents give it so that the child will have some water but that becomes a habit then they do not like to have plain water so you can give it once in a day I think 1 teaspoon or 2 teaspoon should be good enough
