ExpertDr Disha PatelAyurvedic Physician7 years agoA. yes you can give.. better to give home made cerelac..because.. Homemade cerelac is free of chemicals and preservatives and can be consumed fresh. . Home made porridges are better than commercial preparations. You can make a variety: sooji kheer, rice kheer, thick soups made from a mixture of pulses, cereals and seasonal vegetables, rice-daal khichdi etc. These are nutritionally rich, made fresh from home available ingredients so that your baby learns straight away to eat the family food

ExpertDr. Swapnil SaxenaAyurvedic Physician7 years agoA. As baby completes 6 months of age you can start with weaning foods . you can gradually introduce as one primary meal preferably either breakfast or lunch. When you introduce a new food feed it for 3 days to see if baby has any signs of allergy . This is the three day test rule Start with soups of pulses or rice porridge. Can give stock of boiled vegetables with added Hing and jeera Can give pureed or mashed fruits like apple, banana, chikoo pear , avocado, peach. Can give unsweetened yoghurt, curd rice, dal khichdi, Daliya, Ragi porridge Can give boiled potatoes and sweet potatoes As baby grows up you can introduce chapati soaked in milk or dal and mashed well. If after introducing any food baby develops diarrhoea vomiting constipation or stomach pain discontinue the food as these are symptoms of food allergy. Start with a few spoons initially and gradually switch to small half bowl than a full small bowl. Give a gap of three hours between the feeds so that the previously taken meal is digested well sufficient play time is also necessary as moving the Body Keeps the bowel moving, improves digestion and releases gases. Don't force feed. If baby is reluctant to eat due to teething issues or other reasons like loss of appetite after sickness, you need to try giving small quantities at frequent intervals

NikithaMom of a 11 yr 4 m old child7 years agoA. Hello..once your baby completes 6 months you can give cerelac..nestle cerelac stage one is good. also you can Start with fruit pureed, as it’s easy to digest. Always follow 3 days-wait-rule. That means you must keep a gap of 3 days between two new foods. This is the best way to check food allergies in babies. Stop feeding that particular food in case of food allergy. Always feed solid food to your baby when he is sitting on a chair or in your lap. Don’t feed solid when your baby is lying on his back. Don’t add breastmilk r formula milk during cooking, it should not be heated directly on the flame. Add breast milk or formula milk once the food is ready to eat for your baby. Baby food must be soft, properly cooked and easy to chew. Start with a very small quantity and slowly increase the portion. Weaning food must be a single grain food. Always feed freshly cooked food to your baby. Do not add salt, sugar, honey to your baby’s food. Introduce new food when a baby is at home only. Introducing solid foods can cause constipation in few babies. You should be careful about certain foods while giving to your baby before one year. Don’t feed your baby forcefully. His solid intakes will increase gradually.
