A. Dear Mom, To develop the skill of sucking from the breast takes time for both Mom and the baby. Have patience, learn how to latch the baby, witha wide grip. Get a support for the back. Breast milk production is a reflex action, more the baby sucks on the nipple, higher is the production of milk. Baby also feels warm and connected to the mother with breastfeeding. So breast feeding the baby is always the best choice for both Mom and the baby.

A. Yes u can use breast pump. It won't decrease the milk secretion. Milk supply is based on demand . The more and more u express or the baby sucks, more Breastmilk will be produced. The difference between direct breast feeding and using breastpump is that u will have an emotional connect when the baby sucks directly which will be absent while using breastpump. Also direct sucking will trigger ur hormones and comparatively produce more milk.
