can I apply coconut oil on my cracked nipples while breastfeeding for better results?

It may be sore nipple Appy pure ghee to ur breast And if cut or infection then use cream as per ur doctors advice If breast is hard that means ur breast is engorged In such case express milk manually and give to ur baby Stop to feed directly for some time. It will help

NikithaMom of a 11 yr 4 m old child7 years agoA. hello the main reason for cracked nipples is incorrect latching. kindly ensure that the baby is latching on to you correctly. you can consult a lactation consultant for this. the elders and the more experienced in the house can also help. you can even try watching some tutorials on you tube to see the correct method of latching. for treating sore nipples, try the following things. 1. nipple butter- these are manufactured by many companies and are easily available in the market and online too. you can purchase them and apply it after every feed. 2. apply homemade ghee or unsalted butter after every feed or every 2-3 hours. this also helps in soothing cracked nipples. 3. application of your own breast milk will also help in faster healing. 4. nipple shields are available in the market which prevents nipples coming into direct contact with the baby's mouth. you and the baby just need some practice to get used to these. 5. hot fomentation- hot water fomentation is the best way to relieve sore
