1 Answer

A. Calamine lotion meant for babies can be used. Generally Baby acne may be caused by the hormones the baby received from the mother during pregnancy or a cream or lotion which u may use which is too oily can cause it. Sometimes a medication which the breast feeding mother takes or the baby himself takes can cause the baby acne. It appears on new born babies after two to four weeks of birth. Usually it goes away on its own without leaving any marks as the baby grows older. Just wash the baby face daily with a mild soap gently. Avoid using oily cream or lotion. Don't scrub that area. But if it seems abnormal or spreads then it's better to consult with your pediatrician.
