A. once you get completely recovered and get comfortable, you can start exercises... If normal delivery, ( atleast wait upto your bleeding stop...)... if c-section delivery then please get a green signal from the gynaecologist regarding the same...(generally suggested atleast after 4-6 months).... start gradually... start with walking and breathing exercises... then gradually move towards the other light and then moderate exercises like swimming, yoga, aerobics, planks, sit ups, reverse sit up, abdominal crunches, aerobics, cycling, running, dancing, zumba etc... don't go for dieting... eat balanced diet but in small quantity frequently.. Chew your food properly... Take out time to eat your food... Eat your food slowly.... It takes 15-20 minutes to get the full satisfaction signal to the brain . ..so eat slowly.. Don't eat food in hurry.. I know with baby at home it seems to be difficult but not impossible.. Try it... Eat food while focusing on the food you are eating... Away from distraction.. Eat protein rich food... Eat negative calorie foods like cucumber, tomato, watermelon, orange, grapes, pineapple, chillies, lettuce, etc.... don't eat junk food... Don't keep a stock of unhealthy snacks in the home... drink a lot of healthy fluids and water... Upto 2.5-3 litres a day.... You can have one cup of green tea with lemon and honey (limit the caffeine intake upto 1 cup a day)... Try warm Lemon water with honey... You can sip on jeera water throughout the day to reduce weight... Don't skip the breakfast.. You should include apple, green tea, honey, lemon, oatmeal, avacado, hummus, beans, pears, berries, nuts, yoghurt, chia seeds, flax seeds, healthy soups, popcorns, sweet potato, peppers, garlic, quinoa, lentils, cinnamon, eggs and lean meat (if non vegetarian), cucumber, tomato, watermelon, chillies, lettuce, broccoli, orange, grapes, pineapple, in your diet... This foods help to increase the metabolism rate and keep you fuller for long time... This helps a lot in weight loss... And also these foods are not harmful during breastfeeding in general... don't eat the remaining foods of the baby.. as the baby food is generally loaded with lot of ghee etc... also we mother's don't want to waste the foods so we put them in our tummy instantly without giving a second thought...so if you don't want to throw the food then keep it in the fridge and eat it only during mealtime... Continue breastfeeding as it helps a lot in the shrinking of the uterus... Take proper care of yourself too along with the baby.... Take proper rest and sleep... Household chores can wait, mess can be waited to be cleaned..ask for help for works related to household and baby from your hubby and other family members... take proper rest... Complete your sleep... Sleep when the baby sleeps.... If sleep is not completed then your body will be exhausted and cranky and your metabolism will slows down and will lead to more weight gain... So take proper rest and sleep.... rest don't take too stress... it will take some time to lose the weight...as it takes 9 months to gain the weight.... always be positive... think about the body that it has done a great job, created the most wonderful wonder of the world ie your baby... so respect it...own it...
