Q.
Baby watches youtube on phone for 1-2 hours in a day. She has learnt all poems, animals names and sounds and other things. I know using phone is v harmful for eyes. Please advice if 1-2 hours can be allowed or not seeing she is learning a lot. She does play, explore things, read books and is active

Thanks anjana ji .. i understand what you are saying and i am not in favor of giving phone to baby.infact we didnt watch tv for one year since our baby s birth to keep her away from these gadgets but then one of my relative showed her rhymes on phone n she got it into it. I want to gradually stop this phone thing but as its v hot and whole day its not possible to get her engaged in other things i asked about letting her use phone for an hour or so as she is learning something or the other from it

Firstcry userMom of a 11 yr 2 m old boy6 years agoA. these days its not ok to give the phone to kids for more than an hour. As the kids as very active these days they get addictive easily to phone as you provide the phones for hours. this one hour duration will prolong to 3 or 4 as the kids grow up. instead we can let them learn some activities and we have intelligent kits for kids to get engaged in activities. as I did the same I m suggesting you. please dont3enxourage them to watch the phone but take some time and help them increase their skills but activities..

It is okay and but make sure that your baby is not completely sticking to the mobile for one or two hours regularly for few hours giving it there is no harm I understand because my daughter also learned a lot of things by the eighth month onwards but try to make sure that you do not make it a habit and you do not let your baby in front of the mobile for more than 15 minutes at a stretch
