Q.

Baby has cold and cough from thursday went to doctor and gae syrup. Today evening has suddenly high fever 103+ or102+. No doctor available now. Had iven dolo drops baby is sleeping. Please suggest what to do NOte: oct 19th she got cold from then got fever ten recovered and then again got fever in a week then recovered. Nov 1 to 4 she was fine and not had runing nose but have chest congestion till now.

A. for fever as well as pain kindly give paracetamol according to the weight of child as well as according to the power of paracetamol medicine you are having and paracetamol can be given maximum 4 times per day and also do body sponge to decrease the surface temperature. also when u take temperature in the armpit of the child and it is 100 or more then only consider it as fever and give paracetamol. higher medicines for fever like ibugesic and mefenamic has to be given only after medical consultation. after giving fever medicines you can wait for maximum 3 days and then meet your doctor if it is not improving you can continue the anti cold medicines given by the doctor and after 3 days of fever take a follow up
