Q.

#askthepert Hello! My 3.5 month old baby all of sudden stop sleeping during day time. He gets up 5 am and in entire day he sleeps for about 3 to 3.5 hours and this is happening for the past one week otherwise he was a ok sleeper. In 24 hrs he sleeps for about 11 to 12 hours only. Can anyone tell me its a teething or sleep regression? And what is sleep regression!?

A. Sleep regressions are common in babies and toddlers, often occurring due to developmental milestones or teething. At 3.5 months old, your baby's sudden change in sleep patterns may indicate a regression. Look for signs of teething like increased drooling and irritability to determine the cause. To help, establish a consistent bedtime routine, create a calming environment, andd offer comfort. If issues persist, seek advice from your pediatrician. Patience and understanding during this phase are key, as sleep regressions are temporary and part of your baby's growth and development journey.d
