Loose motion are most of the time infective where it is assochiated with fever and vomiting and its known as gastroenteritis where symptomatic treatment along with management for dehydration is requirehd if loose motions are associated with foul smell mucous high grade fever than it could be bacterial infection which needs antibiotics treatment

Teething would be one reason as that can often lead to lose motions to a lot of kids so that can probably be one reason by your child may be having lose motions and sometimes it could be due to indigestion as well and infection in the stomach stomach as well so you have to get a check with your paediatrician on that
