my sister's baby is 8.5months old and since she had to resume back to work she isn't able to  breastfeed the baby. after checking with doctor we have started with Dexolac Stage 2 for him. it contains all the 36  essential nutrients for prior growth and development. it's been 2 months now and he is achieving all the growth milestone well. I would highly recommend you to get your doctor's suggestion

hey, since your child is 8 months I'm assuming that he'll be on solids as well. in this age, formula should be given just to supplement the meals in case you are not breastfeeding or want to supplement occasionally. choose a brand that works well as per the needs and digestion of the baby, or go as per pediatrician's advice. after my girl was 6 months, I had to supplement her meals with formula as I joined work and couldn't breastfeed her during the day. I pumped and occasionally she was given dexolac stage 2 along with solids as per pediatrician's advice. touchwood she never got any digestion issues.
