POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 7 m old boy2 years agoA. avoid using harsh soaps.stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids.take lukewarm showers.slather your skin with a gentle moisturizer after drying off.avoid scratching your skin.turn your thermostat down.keep indoor moisture levels up.If nonfacial skin is very dry, you might want to use a thicker moisturizer (Eucerin, Cetaphil, others) or an oil, such as baby oil. Oil has more staying power than do lotions and prevents the evaporation of water from the skin's surface. Another possibility is a petrolatum-based product (Vaseline, Aquaphor, others).
