A. You can start introducing solids to your baby around 6 months of age. Here’s a general guideline: 1. **Purees**: Typically, you can start offering purees around 6 months. Begin with single-ingredient purees like apple, pear, or sweet potato. Gradually introduce a variety of fruits, vegetables, and grains. 2. **Semi-Solids**: As your baby gets used to purees, you can start introducing semi-solid foods around 7 to 8 months. This might include thicker textures, mashed fruits, or finely chopped vegetables. 3. **Finger Foods**: Around 8 to 9 months, you can introduce soft finger foods like small pieces of banana, cooked carrots, or soft bread. Always ensure the food is appropriately prepared to avoid choking hazards and introduce one new food at a time to monitor for allergies. Continue breastfeeding or formula feeding alongside solids until your baby is around 12 months old, gradually reducing milk feeds as the intake of solids increases.
