#asktheexperts Started solids for my 5m old baby a week back. From the last 2 days her poop is yellowish green but has black seedy kind of thing. Is black seedy poop worrying??

A. This can be a sign of a serious liver or gallbladder problem. Black: While tar-like stools are normal in newborns, they are a cause for concern if your child is more than three days old. Called melena, this type of thick, black stool may be a sign that blood has entered your baby's gastrointestinal tract.
