Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. if the growth of the child is proper there is no need to give any health supplements or calcium or multivitamins to the child but if it is less than your doctor will examine and according to the deficiency the doctor will give medicine and tell till what time a supplement needs to be continued.
but it is at the same time advisable to go natural by giving diet as per age of the child which contains all the important nutrients and supplements.
usually you have to give only iron and vitamin d supplements to the child but that also in maintenance dosage and not as a deficiency dosage after medical consultation. at this age the child should pass stool regularly.
if the consistency is hard and the child is having pain while passing stool it is considered as constipation.
give plenty of water and fibre diet to the child
it is important to give fibre diet from cereals pulses vegetables and fruits
avoid giving more than 400 ml milk everydayd and avoid giving packet and processed foods as well as biscuits and refined food
adding papaya , fenneld seeds water , oats pear prunes pineapple banana kishmish to the regular diet will help in decreasing constipation.
