Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. yoyu can give steam inhalationy which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

U Can go ahead with cough medication to the child if it is too much then you should actually ask your doctor and get a medication prescribed for The child as of now if you are okay with it and if you can manage then give ginger day to the child in some jaggery powder or dates syrup which is going to be convenient for your child to have
