POOJA KOTHARIExpecting Mom due in 1 month2 months agoA. It’s quite common for a 5-month-old baby to have irregular sleep at night, as their sleep cycles are still developing. At this age, babies often wake up due to hunger, teething discomfort, gas, or simply needing comfort. Some babies also struggle to settle themselves back to sleep without being held or rocked.
To help improve sleep:
Establish a calm bedtime routine (warm bath, gentle massage, dim lights). Ensure the baby is well-fed before bed. Try to burp well after feeds to avoid gas. Keep the sleeping environment quiet, dark, and cool. Gently rock or sing lullabies to soothe your baby.
If sleep trouble continues or is accompanied by excessive crying, feeding refusal, or discomfort, it's best to consult your pediatrician. Regular sleep patterns usually improve as the baby grows.
