#asktheexperts My son is passing green stool since a week. 1st day he passed dark green sticky stool, next day green sticky stool. After that he is passing solid green stool at first then a little watery yellow stool. His stool is smelling also. He is on Formula. Having Similac Advance stage 1. Is it normal or shall I consult the doctor?

A. Excess bile can cause green poop. A breastfed baby's poop, as it transitions from meconium to mature milk, may look greenish. Green poop may indicate a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance in breastfed babies, where your baby is getting a larger portion of foremilk (watery milk) than hindmilk (thicker, fattier milk).
