#asktheexperts my son is getting fever cough and cold very early in 10 days he has suffered from very high fever.what should i do

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine wvhich should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and thve dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

Then If it is required you can go ahead with course of antibiotics after consulting your doctor nebulising and giving indirect steam to the child for at least five days two times in a day is also going to hell and if the fever is higher or was higher than its okay but if it is higher as well then you can go ahead with cold sponging
