#asktheexperts my daughter is 4yr 8 month old... she has cough from last 5 month... i have tried many home remedies but still she has cough... doctor suggest cough syrup ...but thats decrease coughing partially... and doctor suggest that cough is due to heat... after that i hav given ragi, banana etc other body cooling foods...but still she has little bit coughing... she is very active girl..but coughing at nyt tym and early mrng steels her sleep...whn did she recover from coughing completely???

Cough is a protective reflex of the body to expel out the mucus or any irritant factor from the respiratory tract which is most of the time assosiated with cold due to anbty viral or bacterial infection . A proper examination is required to find the cause .
As a home remedy you can start with steam inhalation . Cough can be treated with cough suppressant or antitussives as per the cause. For cold antihistamines are useful and nasal saline drops are also benifecial .

Consult with your doctor in person for proper physical examination and treatment see your own treating doctor can guide you more and can solve your problems
Give turmeric milk twice daily
Try alternative therapy like homeopathic medicine
