Q.

#asktheexperts My baby is now 40 days old.. he was born with hypocalcemia with calcium level 7.2 and given calcium through iv and when discharged the level was 9.2.. pead told to give calcium syrup for 1 mongh and the discontinue and to give vit d only.. now as we shifted to another city and shown to pead .. he told us to continue giving vit d , calcium and to add iron drops also.. As sugggested by earlier pead . Calcium is not required as baby is taking breatfeeding and formula milk also and to introduce iron after 6 months . Baby was born with weiggt 2.38kg.. I am not sure to give calcium and iron drops to the baby or not.. kindly calrify..

A. dear mom. i will advice if your baby is gaining good weight and taking fm or bm well then you msy stop giving calcium. or better to discuss this with your treating doctor
