A. For a 1-month-old baby who is anxious and crying a lot at night, it's important to understand that this is often due to gas, hunger, overstimulation, or the need for comfort, not always a sleep problem. At this age, babies don’t have a set sleep routine and may cry frequently, especially in the evening (known as infant colic). Regarding sleep drops: It is not recommended to give any sleep drops or medicines to a 1-month-old baby without a doctor’s prescription. Over-the-counter sleep aids or sedatives can be unsafe or harmful for infants. What you can do: Try burping well after every feed to relieve gas. Gently rock or swaddle the baby to soothe them. Create a calm, dimly lit sleep environment. Use white noise (like a fan or lullaby) to help the baby relax. Offer frequent feeds, as young babies feed often, even at night. If your baby’s crying is excessive, high-pitched, or if they have fever, poor feeding, vomiting, or lethargy, please consult your pediatrician immediately to rule out any medical cause.
