#asktheexperts my baby is 9months old and got cold frequently during weather change. is it okay to give antibiotics as prescribed by doctors in this age?

A. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a proper evaluation by the doctor is done and according to the type of cough its prescribed. if arny fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the temperature hfand the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .
