Q.

#asktheexperts My baby is 5 months old and is 6.5 kg. I consulted a Paediatrician. He suggested to wait till 6 months. Another paediatrician stated that ur baby reached 6 kg weight so u can start solid. Please suggest when to introduce solids to my baby?

A. Weight gain in a child is a good indicator for proper health of the child and there should be a regular weight gain as per the age of the child. if there is not a proper weight gain it can be because of many factors and three most importanyt causes are Baby not taking enough caloribes Baby is not absorbing the enough calories which the baby is taking Baby is burning too many calories . So a proper assessment is very important to know the cause regarding this .

A. after baby completes six months then solid should be introduced as ragi porridge rice porridge wheat porridge cerelac Dalia sabudana puree mashed fruits and vegetables as potato sweet potato carrot papaya pear sapota pumpkin papaya remember one new food one at a time
