A. You can start introducing solids to your baby around 6 months of age, as per pediatric recommendations. At 5 months, breast milk or formula should remain the primary source of nutrition. When starting solids, begin with easily digestible, single-ingredient foods like mashed banana, apple puree, or rice cereal mixed with breast milk or formula. Gradually introduce well-cooked and mashed vegetables like carrots, pumpkin, and sweet potatoes. Offer small spoonfuls and watch for any signs of allergies. Avoid salt, sugar, honey, and cowโ€™s milk until after one year. Always introduce one new food at a time and maintain a slow transition to solids.
