#asktheexperts my baby is 4.5 months old. he was taking cholecalciferol elshine d3 drops .. but after we shifted I am not able to get the same in the local pharmacy. request you to kindly suggest an alternative

ExpertDr Mahesh PatilPaediatrician3 years agoA. Hello, your baby boy is 4 months old and he was taking vitamin d3 drops of any brand you can give it instead of previous drops and continue it upto 10 months

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy3 years agoA. you have to continue vitamin d3 supplement till you are not able to take the child in sunlight.
if you are giving 400 units you have to give 1ml everyday and if you're giving 800 units you have to give 0.5 ml everyday.
the thing is that you have to keep the child in sunlight for at least half an hour between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for proper vitamin d exposure.
so if you are able to take the child in sunlight you can stop vitamin d supplement
according to the power you can go for any brand and your pharmacist will help you in that

RashmiMom of a 11 yr old girl3 years agoA. U Can I ask the chemist to give you the same medicine another medicine with the same Sol which is in the medicine that you are giving otherwise you can just ask your doctor to suggest you with any brand to go home
