Mom of a 3 yr 1 m old boy2 years ago
Q.

#asktheexperts My baby is 2 months old. He is weighing only 3.9kg. His birth weight was 3.4 kg. He cries often during night time. Doctor told me that he cries because he is hungry and my milk is not sufficient. I breastfed him on demand and sometimes I feed him continuously for about an hour continuously. So doctor said you should feed him only 20 mins to half an hour. After that he told me to feed formula milk. I am worried. When will my milk be sufficient for my baby. Upto how many months I have to feed formula milk for my baby? Will everything be normal within 6 months?

A. Okay so I would your suggestion to completely switch to formula feeding for your child because your child has hardly gain any weight into these two months it should have been at least 800 g to 1 KG into months which is not there so I would suggest to shift formula feeding entirely that is going to to help or if you want to increase your formula feed then you can try going ahead with some lactation supplement
