Q.
#asktheexperts my baby is 14 months old and has been suffering from viral. His running nose is troubling him a lot and is not able to breathe properly due to that. After consultation, we gave him pcm and LCZ along with saline drops. Earlier his temperature was below 100 but today he is having 101-102 temperature. Please suggest treatment especially for running nose. Thanks

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. Cold is a viral illness and symptoms could be sneezing, running nose, cough sore throat, nasal congestion and fever.
Treatment consists of antihistamines antipyretics analgesics and decongeshtants .
steam inhvalation would be beneficial .
Medicines like sinarest/wikoryl / Alex cold can be given in a proper dose according to the weight for 3-5 days as per the symptoms .

Give sinarist 1.5 ML as of now twice a day to your child for five days it will help in controlling the running nose and fever is high so please start doing cold sponging immediately and still if the fever is not coming down then you should just either visit the emergency or consult your paediatrician because 102° fahrenheit is quite a high fever for a child
