Q.

#asktheexperts My baby has fever since morning. in morning it was 99.3 which came upto 102 during evening. we visited the doctor in which they sponged the baby and gave crocin drops and his fever dropped to 98.8 which again rose to 102 in the night. he is still running 100 fever. doctor said to observe him for 48 hrs. we doesn't understand what is happening with him?

A. Fever is when the temperature of the body goes above 99 degree fahrenheit and the safest medicine in such situation is paracetamol which can be repeated after 6 hours again if required in a proper dose . Alternative medicine can also be tried if required like ibuprofen and mefenamic acid preparations. cold sponging of the whole bodyhg with tap water can be beneficial too to bring the temperature down .
