A. Thank you Dr. He will be 4 months old on 19th July. Does teething happen so early and how long it would last. Also doctor I m full time breast feeding and he would poop mostly after having feed, is it normal? H

A. finger, thumb, hand, things insertion in the oral cavity is very normal at this stage and usually it is due to teething pain the child is experiencing along with inflammation and pain in the gums. just maintain hygiene of the child finger as well as any type of things which goes inside the oral cavity and also try to maintain the hygiene of your finger when you are touching the hands of the child. to decrease the teething pain you can press the gums of the child and if the child is very irritable and crying for pain you can give paracetamolc also. it is a self limiting habit and no treatment is required. but if hygiene is not maintained then dirty things going inside the oral cavity can cause infection fever vomiting and loose motions.

A. Teething could be happening with your child as that can often lead to an issue like this where you see kids suffer with loss of appetite and they have milk only when they’re sleepy or something but throughout they do not prefer having it which is a normal behaviour don’t worry once a child settles down the child will start having feeding properly through the day and night as well
