POOJA KOTHARIExpecting Mom due this month4 months agoA. For a 2-month-old baby with a head wound, it's important to be very gentle and cautious. Here's what you should do:
Clean the wound gently with clean, lukewarm water. Avoid using strong antiseptics like Dettol directly on a baby’s skin. Pat dry with a soft, clean cloth. Don’t rub. Apply an antiseptic cream recommended for infants (like Soframycin or Neosporin, but only after checking with your doctor). Keep the area clean and dry. Avoid covering it tightly unless advised by a doctor. Watch for signs of infection like swelling, pus, redness spreading, or fever.
If the wound is deep, bleeding a lot, or your baby is unusually fussy, drowsy, or vomiting, seek medical attention immediately. For a baby this young, even minor injuries should be checked by a pediatrician if you're unsure.
