#asktheexperts my baby girl is 14days old and is having nose congestion which is troubling her to have proper sleep. can we use nasal drops ps: she don't have running nose or any other cold symptoms only nose is blocked at nights. mornings she seems fine

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination.
steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest.
As a part of viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cokough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .
