#asktheexperts My baby fever is varying upto 102-104 F since yesterday. Consulted pediatrician yesterday and medicine for cough and cold and fever is given as instructed. but fever is coming back , can I apply wet clothes for reducing temperature?

the first medicine will always be paracetamol and it is given according to weight and power of paracetamol medicine you are having.
give liquids and easily digestible food and paracetamol should be given only after food.
keep the child in cool environment and avoid using woolen clothes when the child is having fever
armpit temperature of hundred or more is considered as fever
to body sponge to decrease the surface temperature and should be carried out for at least 20 minutes with normal tempzerature water.
higher medicines whether required or not will be told by the doctor.

yes u can apply wet cloth (tepid sponging) on the forehead to bring down the temperature.
viral fever can take around 3-5 days to subside. so no need to worry.
