Act in a silly way so that your child is momentarily distracted from his tantrum. Pick up the child in your arms. Talk to him and reassure him that he is safe with you. This will help melt away any pent-up frustration and soothe his temper within no time.

Establish a routine and then follow it consistently. Help your child to convey his actions into words so as to reduce his need to throw tantrums. Teach your child about compromise. Give him a sense of empowerment by giving him choices. When a child makes a choice, he feels that he is in control of the situation.
