A. It's common for babies to become cranky, fussy, or have sleep disturbances after vaccinations, especially at six weeks. This could be due to: Possible Reasons Mild Discomfort or Pain – Some babies experience soreness at the injection site, making them uncomfortable. Fever or Body Ache – Vaccines can cause mild fever or body aches, leading to restlessness. Change in Sleep Pattern – Some babies become extra sleepy, while others struggle to sleep. Digestive Discomfort – Some vaccines may cause mild stomach issues, leading to fussiness. What You Can Do ✅ Check for Fever – If fever is above 100.4°F (38°C), consult a pediatrician. You can give paracetamol drops if prescribed. ✅ Soothing Techniques – Swaddle your baby, offer skin-to-skin contact, and rock him gently. ✅ Breastfeeding – Frequent nursing provides comfort and hydration. ✅ Massage the Injection Site – A warm compress can help if the injection area is swollen or sore. ✅ Calm Environment – Keep the room quiet and dim to encourage sleep. ✅ Burping & Tummy Care – Ensure proper burping and a gentle tummy massage if he has gas. When to See a Doctor? ⚠️ High fever (above 101°F) ⚠️ Continuous crying for more than 3 hours ⚠️ Severe swelling/redness at the injection site ⚠️ Baby refusing to feed or showing weakness These post-vaccine effects usually settle in 2-3 days. Keep comforting your baby, and he should feel better soon. Let me know if you need more help!
