#Asktheexperts my 5 years old son has fever,crocin 240 syrup, and half of calpol 500 tablet did nothing, please advice what to give

A. One infection syrup and antibiotics

A. Fever is commonly seen in babies and mostly it's viral infection which is very common in children. But if fever is high grade and persisting or assosiated with specific symptoms than other causes should also be ruled out . Antipyretic like paracetamol or ibuprofen or mefenamic acid are usually given to reduce fever . Cold sponging with lukewarm water is also helpful . Doctor consultation should be done if symptoms like excessive irritability dullness loss of xcr appetite less urine output is there .

A. If The fever is yet not subsiding then you start doing cold sponging that’s going to help in reduction of the temperature the cold sponging should be done on the forehead as well as behind the needs of the child and you do need to consult your paediatrician ones tomorrow
