#asktheexperts My 2.5 months old daughter has running nose and we are giving her nose drops given by doctor whenever nose is blocked but the condition still remains the same since last 3days. please suggest to help her breathe better

Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a eproper evaluation by the doctor is done and according to the type of cough its prescribed. if aney fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the temperature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .

Apart from the nasal drops that you are giving I suggest to you that you should go ahead with giving Internet steam as well to the child twice or twice in a day depending upon your comfort that is going to also help a lot in opening up the nose blockage four the child
