Q.

#asktheexperts my 1.5 month old baby didn't poop for 8 days .I consulted local pediatrician.he gave me glycerine suppository and polybion syrup and Himalaya bonnison syrup. is polybion syrup good for my baby

A. it's a multivitamin. usually not treatment is required if the consistency of the stool is normal and you should not count the number of days It is very common that children less than 6 months of age may not pass stool for sometime 10 days also. Slight discomfort as well as straining while passing urine and stool is also normal. You have to just take care of colic pain as well as gas in the abdomen and do not worry about the frequency of the stool if the consistency of the stool is semi solid to solid. please note that intermittent crying that you see might be due to colic pain and not due to constipation.

A. If it wouldn’t be safe for good the doctor would not advise you but you are in at the same time I would like to tell you your constipation in this is normal kids can go without without pooping for 10 days also at a stretch and so many medicines would actually not be required for this
