A. Yes, your weight gain is generally within a normal range considering your starting weight. Since you began pregnancy at 85 kg, which is classified as overweight or obese by BMI standards, doctors usually recommend a total weight gain of around 5–9 kg throughout the entire pregnancy. At 25 weeks and 5 days, gaining about 3 kg (from 85 to 88 kg) is considered appropriate and healthy for someone with a higher pre-pregnancy weight. What matters more is that: Your baby is growing well (as per ultrasound and doctor checkups), You are eating a balanced, nutritious diet, and You are staying active (as per what your doctor allows). If your doctor is not concerned about your weight or baby’s growth, you don’t need to worry. Just continue focusing on healthy eating, regular antenatal visits, and tracking baby movements as you progress.
