No it is not necessary it is your choice if you wanna go ahead with it because what happens is lot of times when you give tummy time to do join it really helps them and address them to rule over which is why we say it is good and kids really enjoy tummy time rest if you do not want to go ahead with it there is no compulsion that you have to go for it
