A. Gas in smaller babies is a very common and a Matter of concern most of the times for care giver. its mostly because of immaturity of the gut . formula feed or early igntroduction of cows milk in babies may be aggravating factor. proper burping aftder each feed is very important. Enzyme preparations like aglozyme or vitazyme can be beneficial. Also colicaid drops can be given.

A. Loperamide (Imodium®) is the drug most widely used. The dose is two capsules to start then one after each loose bowel motion. It can be taken by breastfeeding mothers as it is poorly absorbed from the gut and minimal amounts reach breastmilk.
