#asktheexperts I have been recently informed that mine is a IUGR stage 1 baby. weight is 2.2 kg and abdominal circumference is also less. I am 36 weeks pregnant. can you suggest if the weight of baby can increase at this stage

ExpertDr.Sabiha AnjumObstetrician and Gynaecologist1 month agoA. It’s difficult to increase the weight of the baby much,still take high protein diet on a daily basis. For another week max the weight gain can happen for now

Maam such a situation for initial one month to one year you can see the progress and growth can be little slow but with the proper diet and if the child is taking proper feed and good feet they pick up eventually within six months to 1 year of age after a regular growth so not an issue as of now
