#asktheexperts hi. I am mother of 2 month old baby. my baby's weight is not increasing.. it increased only 400 grms in 2 month. and I am having diabetes.. does diabetes affect the breastmilk.??

A. Dear Your diabetes does not affect breast milk Even a diabetic mother can successfully breastfeed Various reasons can affect weight gain like the latch of the baby to the breast , whether Baby is able to effectively drain the breast or not will have to be assessed Baby should be frequently breastfed on demand at one episode feed from only one breast Do not switch breast so that baby to receives fat rich hindmilk which will help in weight gain
