#asktheexperts Hi Doctor, My baby is having a cold from the last 4 weeks. The mucous got thicker, but he always have a running nose , which made him difficulty to breath while sleeping and feeding. Kindly suggest. Thanks in advance.

Cold is most of the time because of viral illness and if the child is having recurrent running nose and nasal congestion it may be a part of allergic rhinitis also so it needs a proper examination. steam inhalation will be beneficial in both the cases along with decongestant medicine like alex cold/ hatric 3/ sinarest. As a part o dof viral illness there could be associated symptoms like cough and fever which needs treatment accordingly along with a proper hydration needs to be maintained .
