#asktheexperts hi Doctor, my baby is 9 month old and he still wakes up every couple of hours screaming in the night. Is this normal. He has never slept for more than 2-3 hours at a stretch. Would this hamper his development?

A. Hello good evening !! Its quite common in babies to wake every hour mostly for feed,wet nappy/diaper it doesnt affect growth . As baby is 8 months ,you can feed semi solids and then make him sleep. Bath,breakfast (home made cerelac,puriees,idly,porridge - nap; after lunch one nap or else after evening feed nap night give milk tummy full and middle of the night feed every 2-3 hours.
