#asktheexperts Hi Doctor, My baby is 13 days old today. How do I know my baby is getting enough milk . I am doing exclusive breastfeeding. My baby wants to be fed roughly in a an interval of 1.5hrs- 2hrs

A. Namaste Mom, the time interval is very well fine and normal, not to worry , when exclusively breast feeding then feed on demand is recommended. weight gain is the best indicator , so monthly weight gain expected is in the range of 400 gm to 1 kg and by the age of 4 to 6 months they double their birth weight

A. Hello Maam, Thank you for your prompt response. My baby is 3kg now at 18 days old. His birth weight is 3.16kg ( Born on 12th August, 2026 ). I am worried his weight gain is getting affected . I am continuing exclusive breastfeeding. Regards, Poulami Moitra

A. hello baby gaining min of 150 to 200 g per week is a good gain n an indication baby is getting enough bm n u may even check in baby per count
