#asktheexperts hi doctor...fever not going down and baby became weak...she is only drinking milk...fever fluctuate Fromm 99 to 104

A. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6g hrs if needed . Lukewarm sponge bath can be given ags home remedy to decrease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

Ma’am 102+ is considered a very high fever is if it’s considerably going to 104 also that you are saying then you should immediately be consulting a doctor or maybe they’re going to give you a higher dose of medicine and get a blood test also done to figure out whether it is just an infection or some another issue associatedWrite Your Answer Here
