Q.

#asktheexperts hi, baby girl, 18 days old. Urine c/s report shows 10,000 cfu/ml for incubation priod of 24 hours. I do not know about test method, it may be normal or catheter specimen. I just want to know if this count is normal on each test method or not and what should be the value for each test method that considered in normal range? please let me know.

A. if this is the report then the child is suffering from urinary tract infection for which antibiotics has to be given according to the culture report so please visit your pediatrician who will tell you for how many days a particular antibiotic needs to be given to clear the infection
