#asktheexperts Hello , My new born had high billirubin in his blood after 2 nd of life. The Total bilirubin has reduced with phototherapy but indirect billirubin is not reduced. Also, the level is too high around 4.1.What causes the high level and how to reduce it? Thank you!

A. Sorry, Direct billirubin is too high (4.1). Indirect billirubin has reduced to 5. Direct billirubin is not reduced even after 1.5 months old.
