#asktheexperts hello my baby has been coughing around 3 to 4 days i've been giving her ascoril ls morning and night 2.5ml but she still have cough and also when she start coughing she was trying vomiting and her nose is full of nostrils

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children1 Year agoA. Cough along with Cold and fever most of the time is a viral illness or allergic and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration needs to be maintained. you can give steam inhalation which may be useful .
cough needs to be treated with medicine like anti allergic expectorant bronchodilators antitussives or cough suppresents medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough and need.
In severe cough nebulisation can be given where medicine directly gets dilivered in the respiratory tract.
Also if fever is there paracetamol can be given to uutreduce the fever and the dose is 15 mg/ kg body weight and can be repeated after 6 hours agagin if required .
Home remedies like Tulsi & ginger mix in honey can be tried for soothing.

First of all the dosage of the medicine is really high it should be somewhere around 1ML and secondly I would suggest you to consult your doctor they’ll give you proper medication as per the need by your child and right now viral is spreading a lot could be a viral infection as well
